Governor Whitmer has formally announced that the deadline to file state of Michigan taxes has been extended to July 15, matching the federal deadline.

Today, Governor Whitmer issued a shelter in place order starting at midnight tonight and lasting through the next 3 weeks. Due to this order, we will not be able to meet with clients face to face until the mandate is lifted.
If we already have your paperwork, we will be in touch with you as soon as possible to go over everything and finish your return by phone. If we don't, please send your paperwork to us by postal mail, email, or fax, or drop off at our office (there is a mail slot in our back door if we are not in).
The IRS announced at the end of last week that the filing deadline is extended to July 15. Although the state has not made a formal statement, the expectation is that they will follow the federal government's lead.

Yesterday it was announced that the IRS is extending the deadline to pay taxes due until July 15, 2020. THE DEADLINE TO FILE HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED AT THIS POINT.
